This is awesome, and painfully accurate.
Anytime friends or therapy clients ask me for book recommendations, I typically steer them away from self-help books. Too much "guru" bullshit.
Most of modern cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is rooted in Stoicism and Buddhism.
So the two books I recommend the most are:
The Daily Stoic, by Ryan Holiday
The Miracle of Mindfulness, by Thich Nhat Hanh
No bullshit. Hyper practical. Easy to read.
